Shouldn't I be doing something else

We had a fun day yesterday. Some cousins came over in the morning and we got to play after the fellas woke up. Then we hit the local ymca and Ben went swimming, which he loves of course. Josh played in the daycare and I got on the elliptical. I promptly got bored and watched a different show every few min. This included clean house, matlock and csi. When Ben got out of the water he apologized for getting water on my pants. Such a gentleman. Next we got to go get paperwork filled out for preschool at the doctors office. Then all spur of the moment like we all went to go see Ponyo. It was ok but not something I would buy. First of all my 4 year old has enough trouble wandering off and second of all we have been working on the no kissing thing. It was a great day with popcorn and recess pieces for dinner.
You know when your driving and someone pulls the dumb card and thinks they must be important enough to disregard all laws cause they are in a hurry (or just dumb). Yeah that's the end of that thought.
I made those muffins this morning. I used only wheat flower and the result was a bit too grainy for me. The boys took them down and so did Mr. wonderful. In the future I think we will go halvsies on wheat and white. After breakfast we had to go back to the docs for a shot. Ben informed me as soon as the nurse shut the door that she was not nice she was just naughty. On the way out Dr. J asked what was wrong with his leg (he was limping). I said he got a shot and so his leg stopped working. As we were getting in the car I was informed that we had to go to the ice cream store. I am assuming this was learned from dadio. Ben did end up very disappointed by the fact that they don't make blue milkshakes. Well it's time to get to work on dinner. Roasted potatoes and some pork chops with a lovely italian salad.

What woulld you do if I sang out of tune

I am pondering house projects today. So much to do and it all costs something. The playroom has to be drywalled so I don't go crazy with toys. James and I both like end results just not the process of getting there. The next one on the list is replacing the kitchen door. It is due to be done before Saturday. Of course, there is a temple trip Friday so I may not have it done. Such is life.
On a different note I have decided to start cooking for my family again. Less frozen meals and sandwiches and more home cookin'. So every week I make one thing new. I will update if this is a winner or loser. This week : As you wish muffins. You take your basic muffin and put fruit in before cooking. Sounds tasty but I have been fooled before.
Home cleaning has also become a priority, due to the fact that I have been slacking off. Today my home is clean. Tomorrow I will start the garage. We still have roof reshingling stuff in there. I gotta have a place to park inside. Very important in the crazy Kansas weather.

Blogging

Sometimes when I am on here I just want to complain so I erase everything and don't publish a thang.

buzzzzzzzzzzzzz

They love apples. Not just like normal kids but to the extreme. Josh would rather have an apple than cake. Ben has grown past this but it seems unusual. Don't get me wrong, it's great. My only issue is that's a whole lot of fiber for a little man. It's not just apples. Josh will eat broccoli til he turns green and he loves green peppers. It is awesome. I went through the first half of my life despising all things green. I am grateful they get their health kick from the webbie side.
Food note. KFC is now making grilled chicken. It sounds healthier but can't be by much. It still is too dang good to be healthy in any way, with or without skin. I don't understand why McDonald's or Wendy's hasn't figured out the whole grilled thing. Anyone who has talked to me lately has heard me complain. They need to make grilled chicken nuggets. Kids wouldn't care if you start them early on the grilled kind. When i make them at home that's what we do. I'm telling you the first place to do this well will fully win my business.
Today we found a Buzz Lightyear Halloween costume. Ben has worn it all day long and it is hilarious. It covers everything except his face. Ben will probably be too big for it by Halloween but he will wear it as much and as long as he can.
Well tonight is movie night with the kids. We will be watching the Tale of Desperaux. I love movie night with the kids cause it means I get to watch kids movies and everyone is happy and together. K enjoy the weekend kids. Tweb

Random alien walls

I was just taking inventory of random supplies I have purchased in the past for our 72 hour kit. I guess this comes up because church is helping us get 72 hour kits together. I seem to have a few things that surprised me. Oh well I guess I'll save a cent or two. These were things I bought half off at the $1 or $2.50 isle at Target. I even bought rope how awesome is that. I am trying to make a list of things so I can really get to work on getting it slowly together. That's one of my current projects. I have several.
I really want to get my quilts sewn for my boys. I plan to redo their room starting with some paint and a wall instead of a window. I already have two other projects going so maybe I should finish one thing at a time. My other project is painting the hallway and getting the dining room fixed to paint.
On a happier note I got to watch the office which is a great part of my week. Josh is still not asleep and it is 10:40. I hate those subway commercials by the way cause they sound so naughty. I won't explain why either you get it or you don't but seriously. I'm going to go random. My light in the hallway will throw sparks when it gets turned on. Scares the urine right out of me. Ben got to go swimming today and is becoming a pro. I went to kickboxing and almost died but didn't so that was cool. Okey dokey well my husband want to start watching close encounters of the 3rd kind. No matter what anyone says I think this definitely proves my love for him. If I have incredibly obnoxious goofy nightmares tonight he so owes me a pride and prejudice watch. Tweb

My little guy is crying right now.  Josh has been moved to a toddler bed as of today.  We were just sick of the playpen taking up the whole room.  Josh also tends to remove all of his clothing during the night and that includes diapers.  We were running out of tape to keep the tabs on.  The playpen is past being able to keep.  the child destroyed it.  He is sleeping in a car bed you'd think he would love it but not so much.  The crying has stopped at least temporarily.
We waited until Ben fell out of the bed before he was switched to the toddler bed.  He is now sleeping on a bunk bed.  It had a slide until today when the slide was removed by his mommy.  It really made a lot of room.  We have very small bedrooms and really need to utilize our space.  I'm slowly going room to room and trying to simplify.
The biggest problem with simplifying is that I absolutely love a deal.  Garage sales our one of my many favorite things.  This last time I picked up some "Cars" cars, wooden puzzles and size 3 clothes.  I love it and it works with my budget.  I had a garage sale or two.  I hate having them.  You get up early, you put everything out and you might not sell a thing.  When I made money it was really nice though.  I bought a new set of pots and pans with the money.  We had been married four years and it was our first new set.  We used them for a while and James decided they were not perfectly flat on the bottom so I bought him a new set for Christmas.  Yeah I know romantic.
Speaking of romantic, we celebrated our five year anniversary this last weekend at the Chateau Avalon.  We stayed in the New York Penthouse.  It was fun but we won't do it again anytime soon.  The hot tub was awesome and I loved that there was a window by it.  The bed was nice and there was a very large flat screen to watch movies on.  We ordered desert from room service and it was delicious.  The service was all around great.  We had a really fun time.  There was a tornado warning that wasn't so great but that's life.  We won't go back soon just because we just don't stay in hotels much.  It was very pretty though.  OK that's the end of the first post seems kind of weird but I'm going to try and do this.  Thanks Tweb
